Overseas Chinese, Hong Kong, and Macau Student Admissions Affairs
✧ Admissions Period: To be processed in accordance with the announced dates for each admissions channel.
✧ Eligibility Requirements
Overseas Chinese Students (僑生): Refer to Chinese students who were either born overseas and have resided there continuously until now, or who have resided overseas continuously for six or more consecutive years immediately prior to returning to Taiwan for study, and have obtained a permanent or long-term residency document for their place of residence. “Overseas,” as mentioned above, refers to countries or regions other than Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau; “overseas areas” refer to countries or regions outside the Taiwan area.
Hong Kong and Macau Students (港澳生): Refer to residents of Hong Kong or Macau (referred to as Hong Kong/Macau), who hold permanent resident status in Hong Kong or Macau and have continuously resided outside the Taiwan area for more than six years. They must also comply with Article 4 of the Laws and Regulations Regarding Hong Kong and Macao Affairs, and must not hold a foreign passport. Such students may apply to study in the Taiwan area. Under Article 4 of the Laws and Regulations Regarding Hong Kong and Macao Affairs, a Hong Kong resident refers to a person who holds permanent resident status in Hong Kong and does not hold any travel document other than a British National (Overseas) (BNO(O) passport or a Hong Kong passport. A Macau resident refers to a person who holds permanent resident status in Macau and does not hold any travel document other than a Macau passport, or who holds a Portuguese passport that was obtained in Macau before the end of Portuguese administration.
Ethnic Chinese students from Hong Kong or Macau with foreign nationality (港澳具外國國籍之華裔學生): Refer to ethnic Chinese students who hold foreign nationality and permanent resident status in Hong Kong or Macau, have never established household registration in Taiwan, and have continuously resided in Hong Kong, Macau, or overseas for more than six years recently. Such students may apply for admission in accordance with Article 23-1 of the Regulations Regarding Study and Counseling Assistance for Overseas Compatriot Students in Taiwan.
